Durand Line dispute

Pakistan's border with Afghanistan is called the Durand Line. Many contemporary Afghan intellectuals & activists have been reluctant to recognize the Red Durand Line as a permanent Pak-Afghan border.
Durand Line

Yesterday, a trend whose Urdu translation
"Afghans will not recognize the Durand Line" was loudly said by Afghan officials and the general public that they would never recognize this line. But don't they know the truth? Or be aware of the fact that they are deliberately silent! Well, whatever. The Durand Line Treaty was signed between Amir Abdul Rehman and Martyr Durand in 1893. Therefore, for some years now, the debate has been raging that the treaty was a one-year lease, so it has expired. The news of the 100-year-old lease was spread by a Hindu professor two decades ago and opponents have been using it as an argument ever since. But ... There is no mention of 100 years in the original agreement. On the contrary, it says that after the Durand Line Agreement, there will never be any intervention from Afghanistan! When the agreement does not even mention 100, then why are the critics mentioning 100 years and calling it a lease? Professor Latif-ur-Rehman, who is doing his Ph.D. on the Durand Line, says that in fact, another Hindu professor speculated that the Durand Line would have been a lease like the Hong Kong lease. But according to the professor, the Durand Line is not a lease but an agreement Not even 100 years. Opponents of the Durand Line also say that the agreement was imposed on Britain by Amir Abdul Rehman and Afghanistan. Historical references say that Amir Abdul Rehman had requested British India to clarify the borders and there is documentary evidence of this. Prof. Lutf-ur-Rehman in his talk on the subject said that when Prince Abdul Rehman wrote to British India that he wanted to demarcate his border, the British Crown ignored him so Amir Abdul Rehman re-wrote the letter and included Mortimer Durand who was then British India. Was the Foreign Secretary, through which the matter was resolved. Thus from time to time, Amir Abdul Rahman wrote 4 letters, and finally, British India became interested in the fourth letter, after which Sir Durand had discussions with the Amir of Afghanistan for about forty-two days. Somewhere along the 2590 long Durand Line, both sides agreed with certain conditions. Further historical references show that after the agreement, Amir Abdul Rahman had said in a speech to his people that he was very happy with the agreement. Professor Lutfur Rehman says that in fact, Amir Abdul Rehman himself had requested the demarcation of the border so that he would know where Afghanistan was standing. Another misconception or rumor regarding the Durand Line is that some opponents argue that the text of the Amir Abdul Rehman Agreement was in English so they did not understand it. But those who make this argument do not know that Mortimer Durand had a good command of Persian and all his discussions regarding the Durand Line were in Persian. Those who do not believe in the Durand Line also say that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the territory of the Afghan people up to Attock in ancient times. This argument is also quite weak. Because in ancient times, Afghanistan was part of Iran. The point is, borders change over time for a variety of reasons. They don't stay the same. Therefore, the borders of most countries of the world have changed, challenging which is tantamount to calling for a dangerous war.
