The great hero and lion of Mysore, Tipu Sultan, who fought hard against the British in southern India, was born on November 20, 1750, at Diwanhali near Bangalore and was martyred on May 4, 1799, while fighting valiantly.

He was the eldest son of Sultan Haider Ali, ruler of Mysore (now Karnataka, India). Who kept the British in power in South India for 50 years and defeated the British forces many times.

Tipu Sultan said that a day's life of a lion is better than a hundred years of the life of a fox.

He provided strong resistance against British imperialism and took serious and practical steps to liberate the people of the subcontinent from foreign domination. The Sultan implemented far-reaching military reforms, promoted industry and trade, and reorganized the administration. The Sultan agreed that the first problem for the people of the subcontinent was the British expulsion. The Nizam and the Marhats saw Tipu's power as a threat to their survival and allied themselves with the British.

Tipu Sultan tried to get help from Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, and France but was unsuccessful. During the last battle of Mysore, when the defeat of Sarangapattam was certain, Tipu put up strong resistance against the besieging British and closed the fort, but Mir Sadiq and other traitorous comrades opened the gate of the fort to the enemy and entered the fort grounds. A great war broke out. A fire at an ammunition depot weakened the resistance. On this occasion, a French officer advised Tipu to flee to Chitradurga and save his life, but Tipu did not agree and was martyred on May 4, 1799, while fighting the enemy on the battlefield. Done.

Tipu Sultan's life was the life of a true Muslim. He was free from religious prejudice. This was the reason why non-Muslims held high positions in their army and state. Tipu Sultan named his kingdom the Kingdom of God. Despite being rulers, they considered themselves ordinary people. Ablution and recitation of the Qur'an were among his routines. Avoid ostentation. He used to start every royal edict with Bismillah-ur-Rehman-ur-Rehman. They used to sleep on the ground.


Tipu Sultan is called the ruler of seven languages. You had access to many languages, including Arabic, Persian, Urdu, French, and English. He was very keen on reading and owned a private library that contained about 2000 books. In addition, he was very interested in science. You are called the inventor of rocket making in the subcontinent.


Tipu Sultan, who stood by his forces in every battle, was familiar with all the arts of his time. He organized his forces more in the form of cavalry and artillery than infantry. Historic work in armaments, military administration, and military reform.


The poet of the East Allama Iqbal had a special love for Tipu Sultan Shaheed. In 1929, he visited the shrine of Shaheed Sultan and when he came out three hours later, his eyes were red with intense emotion. He said: "History will never forget the greatness of Tipu. He fought till the end for religion, nation, and freedom till he was martyred in the cause of this cause."

The one who betrayed Tipu Sultan was Mir Sadiq. He betrayed the Sultan and was loyal to the British. When one or the other of the generations came to the court to receive a monthly stipend, he would shout, "Let the heirs of Mir Sadiq, the traitor, be present. A tear came out of his eye and he was absorbed in the pillow. The betrayal of such a traitor who lives for hundreds of years is also remembered for centuries. At the end of the day, the difference is whether the person was on the right side or the wrong side ... This short message from me is for the traitors of Pakistan.
