End Occupation & Restore Article 370 in Kashmir

Restore Article 370 in kashmir

The Second Tragic Anniversary

Two years ago today, New Delhi revoked the special status of the Indian-held Kashmir by tinkering with the provisions of the constitution in an attempt to brush the issue under the carpet. However, this reprehensible move has failed to break the Kashmiris' spirit and longing for freedom and dignity. Pakistan's foreign minister has written to the UN Security Council about the stalemate in the occupied Kashmir and said that the people of the region are denied fundamental rights by the BJP-led dispensation. The move of the Indian government is a violation of international law and the presence of a massive military in the disputed region was not justified.

It is not just Pakistan that is speaking up about the dismal situation in the occupied Kashmir. Human Rights Watch has noted that India is using discriminatory restrictions on Muslim-majority areas of the held region and has criticized New Delhi's ham-fisted approach. Several members of the European Parliament have urged the EU to take note of the humanitarian situation in the Indian-administered Kashmir. Arbitrary detentions, the misuse of anti-terrorism laws, and shooting people extrajudicially in IHK have been slammed.

Such a bad press normally urges governments to review their methods, but it seems that the pro-Hindutva dispensation in New Delhi is unfazed, although Prime Minister Modi reached out to loyalist Kashmiri politicians, including those his government had until recently held in detention. The Indian leader summoned former chief ministers including Ms. Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah, to New Delhi, in June while he excluded the pro-freedom Hurriyat factions from the audience. But even here, Ms. Mufti asked Mr. Modi to release the detained politicians and to restore Article 370. Although Mr. Modi may have listened to such entreaties, he was not interested in acting upon the suggestions.

When even loyalists condemn the state policies, it is indeed time to review them. It is said that this reality has not sunk in New Delhi. As Indian attempts to smother the Kashmiris' freedom movement have failed, it is time to review them. For starters, the people of Kashmir should be allowed to assemble and express themselves, while the detained leaders, including Mirwaiz Omar Farooq and Yasin Malik, should be freed. Moreover, the attempts to change the demography of Kashmir should end, and New Delhi should open channels with the genuine Kashmiri leadership to resolve the decades-old dispute democratically and judiciously.

During these two years, the world witnessed the worst demonstration of coercion by the occupying Indian forces in Kashmir.

Despite blatant violations of all international laws, subsequent human rights violations, the best coverage by the international media and human rights organizations, and despite the brutal military siege, the people of Kashmir did not falter and remained steadfast in their struggle for self-determination. ۔

The barbarity of the Indian government in occupied Jammu and Kashmir is due to the Hindutva ideology of the RSS. Today, India is undermining the stability of the region by violating all international norms and laws through its mismanagement and state terrorism.

This day marks two years of Kashmiri land rob, settler colonialism, and the implementation of genocidal agenda in Kashmir. The Indian government abrogated Article 35A and 370 which removed the semi-autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019. The state was split into two territories ruled directly from the capital turning the lives of people into complete misery and destruction.

August 5 is a disgusting and dark day in the history of Kashmir.

For decades, Kashmiris have been grinding in the mill of oppression and the rulers have been silent spectators.

It is time to break the silence and take some practical steps for Kashmir.

5 August- BLACK DAY! J&K demands a full return of our political rights. Return of our land, Return our jobs, Return our state, Return our peace. Restore Article 370!

Today marks 2 years since India’s unilateral & illegal actions of 5 Aug 2019 in Indian occupied Kashmir. For the last 70 years, World has witnessed unprecedented oppression in Indian occupied Kashmir by Indian Occupation forces and unilaterally annexed occupied Kashmir.

Kashmir Looking forward to winning the battle of freedom and the right to self-determination. Our prayers and struggles are always with the people of Indian occupied Kashmir.

The days not so far In shaa Allah one day we'll conquer our land.
